Gems from Juzz 'Amma: "A Glimpse of Paradise"

~ Gems from Juzz 'Amma ~
Day 6 / Gem 6
Surah Mutaffifeen, 22-28: A Glimpse of Paradise
In the following verses, Allah will give us a glimpse of Paradise. smile emoticon
"Indeed, the righteous are in pleasure"
"On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things)."
Aareeka is singular of the word أَرَائِكِ, which is a large couch full of cushions. The word يَنظُرُونَ implies that the people of Paradise will be looking closely [around at the details of Paradise.]
When you sit down and relax, you can’t really look around. So Allah is saying that this will be possible in Paradise. That the people will be reclining, but also with the best view. Wherever they look they will find full bliss.
"You will recognise in their faces the radiance of delight."
is when you have joy, freshness and happiness on your face.
It is also used for vegetables and fruit when they are fresh and ripe. Allah is telling us, that these people will be sitting on couches, with light/bright, fresh, happy faces.
ِ(iddaafa) – soft, blissful, relaxed. Whenever they see something smiles will appear on their faces again.
"They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed."
Yasqoona would be 'they will get a drink.' But يُسْقَوْنَ means ‘they are given to drink', whilst they are reclining on their couches.
As-Sabooni says it is: the purest possible wine or drink, which is not contaminated by age, it is crystal clear (see through), and it has great texture in colour and it never makes you drunk (no matter how much

you drink), and it has a beautiful smell.
"The seal of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete."
At-Tabari: the word تَنَافِسُ signifies – they are running towards something so high class and elegant.
"It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasneem."
is when you put a mix in your drink i.e. to mix flavours etc.
Comes from, 'sanaam' (hump of a camel) i.e. a very high place. It also means to elevate something. In other words, the mixture of this drink has come from a very high fountain/waterfall called Tasneem. It is so nice, that people will wonder where this mix came from.
When you taste that Tasneem – you want it in it’s pure form because it’s so tasty. So the people wonder where it came from?
So Allah explains in the next ayah:
"A spring by which drink those (who are) closest to Allah."
Ash-Shawkani comments that, Tasneem is a waterfall/spring from which the closest to Allah drink.
Gem: this shows that the rank of the Abraar (Righteous) who are sitting on high couches will be served with sealed musk drinks, with a mix of Tasneem. The ones higher and closest to Allah (muqqariboon) they will drink from the location of Tasneem itself.
May Allah bless us all with the highest stations of Jannah and make us of those who get to drink from the location of Tasneem itself. Ameen.
