In pre-islamic Arabia, the right of life was frequently denied to female children. The right to know the identity of the father was also neglected, and tribalism was the main value in society.
In the Roman civilisation, if a child was born sick or disabled, it was killed. If it was born healthy, the child would be placed at the feet of the 'pater familias' (father who had strict patriarchal authority). If he decided to keep the child, he would raise him up with his own hands, and if he didn't, he would abandon the child and leave it to die, or someone would pick it up and take it in as a slave.
And then came Islam.
In Islam, children and women were liberated. A child was given rights to the religion of the mother, to education, fairness, good name and identity. Parents were also elevated in terms of status and obedience, coming second after obedience to Allah and His Messenger.
Islam brought peace and harmony to the family, to society and to the entire world.
How then can one deny that Islam is the religion of truth?
