Gems from Juzz 'Amma: "A speck of dust..."

~ Gems from Juzz 'Amma ~

Day 22 / Gem 22

Surah Zalzala, ayah 7: "A speck of dust..."

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ

"So he who does [an] atoms weight [of] good [shall] see it."

 ذَرَّةٍ

Dharra is the smallest thing imaginable. To the arabs, the smallest thing imaginable was the ant’s egg, and they called it dharra. We might also describe dharra as an atom or speck in the english language. Dharra could also be the light dust you see floating in the air when the sun is shining – through the window – on a sunny day. Each of these dust particles is a dharra. This signifies that the smallest and most lightest imaginable thing being a dharra of good or evil, will be seen on that Day.
The smaller something is, the lighter it is in weight, and the smallest speck may seem worthless, but on that Day the the smallest good action could weigh so heavy on the scales.
Mankind will see every single deed of theirs during this stage on a Record, even the ones that Allah forgave, although we will not have seen our Final Destination (of Paradise or Hell) yet.
Seeing an atoms weight of good will make the believers appreciate Allah’s Mercy even more, because a sinner believer may see that Allah forgave some of his sins and multiplied a good deed of his worth only a dharra/speck by 700 or even more.
Gem: Do not belittle any good deed. Even it is pouring water from your bucket into a container to someone seeking to quench their thirst, or giving companionship to those who are lonely, or serving your parents, or smiling at your neighbour. Even the smallest deed is recorded and will be multiplied on that Day, even if to you it seemed an action smaller than a speck of dust. It could well and truly be your saviour on that day when every single deed will be exposed...
