Ponder O Man!

Ever stopped for a moment - and looked at your surroundings?

To the sky and how perfectly it is raised. As a canopy, protecting you and I.
It carries the clouds that look like fluffy, cotton wool, peacefully and sowly moving along.
Each a unique shape and size.

The humming of the birds as they pass by. Free, calm, without a care in the world.
They praise their Lord at sunrise - chirping words of glory, words of praise, words so beautiful to the ear.

What about the plants which emerge from the spiked up green grass.
Pink, purple, yellow - a rainbow of colours sprouting from within the soil.

Have you ever paused to admire the trees?
As they sway from side to side.
Their strong bark, rigid and firm, deeply rooted in the ground. Details so intricately carved into the trunk - like tiny pathways never ending.

The green leaves hang off the stick like branches. Like a fountain that let's it water flow freely.

The shining lamp in the serene sky.
So bright, illuminating and giving heat to our cold frivel bodies.

The wind - invisible to the eye, yet so powerful with the ability to destroy a nation, a community, by His leave, just like it destroyed the nations of those who indulged in sin and dishonesty.

Ripe fruits of various colours, tastes and smells. Some round, square and others small and others big.
Pebbles, rocks and stones clashing against the rocky shore, turning into tiny particles, forming a golden sand.

The swishing of the waves and it's roaring in the midst of the thunderous storm,  sending fear into our hearts.

Tiny droplets of mercy raining down from the sky. A time of acceptance - a time to raise your hands and supplicate.

Ponder O man, over the creation of Al-Khaliq. Ponder O man and feel your imaan soar high. Ponder O man for you are surrounded with beauty, if only you opened your eyes.

Accepting the laws of Allah

In the name of Allah, all Praise is due to Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon His final messenger, Muhammad (Salallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam).
Before I delve into this topic, I would like to remind you that this article is focused on merely correcting the misunderstandings some individuals have today in regards to the 'accepting' the laws od Allah, specifically polygamy. I am not a scholar or anything close to one - who has spent years researching on this topic, neither am I in a position to tell you what or what not to do. Rather, my aim is to remind you about the importance of accepting the laws of Allah as they are, and not hating the the rules He ordains upon us. What lead me to write about this subject out of all topics is how so many people have gone against plural marriages so much so that they begin to despise it (according to my research and findings).  I have been witnessing people do this in the last few weeks, after someone I know entered into a plural marriage, and it only increased me in frustration.
Wait, what exactly is Polygamy?? And why do we need to discuss such an issue? Polygamy in Islam is the practice of a husband taking more than one wife. As many may be aware, polygamy is illegal in many places including the UK and should not be practiced.  However, Islam permits such a practice and regards it as permissible, but like most matters it comes with conditions.
Due to growing up in the west, we may have heard how unjust and wrong it is for a man to go and take another wife. I mean why can't he be satisfied with just one? We come accustomed in thinking that if a man takes a second, it only means he has lost his love for the first.
Islam has a different take on it...
Allah says in the Qur'an:
"And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice]."
Note that Allah did not make polygamy obligatory or recommended but He made it optional. In this ayah Allah gives the man the right to marry up to four wives, yet, He puts a condition. And that is justice. Islam is based on this concept of being just, Allah himself is the Most Just, and likewise we as His slaves must adhere to being fair at all times. Although here Allah is giving this option to a man, He also tells them that if they fear that they will be unjust between them, then they should marry only one. From this we take that yes, polygamy in Islam is an open option to a man but it must include that the man is able to support both (or more) wives physically and also financially.  If he is unable to do so then it is better for him to restrain himself and stick only to the one.
Islam as a complete way of life, has the key solutions for all societies problems. In a world where men are decreasing in their numbers and women are increasing, polygamy puts things straight. It gives widows, unmarried women and those in need, the right to come under the maintenence and protection of a man who will be her provider and keep her under his care.
At the time of Rasulullah (Salallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) many of the companions and he himself married more than one wife because they understood EVERY woman was deserved of a companion and the love of a man, whether she was a divorcee, widow or a woman who was just unable to marry. Many people may suggest such ideas cannot be practiced today because society has changed.
But, why then do we have increasing number of marriage breakdowns and divorce rates seem to be exceeding higher, when men are going out there and cheating on their wives because it has become a crime to take a second wife?
Don't get me wrong, it's not recommended that men marry a second out of mere desire - however it is permissible.  Sometimes we may not understand things, but we must accept it. That's the main and most important thing I want you to take away from this article. Some things we may never understand, but as a believer we must accept it although we may disagree with it.
I read an article a few days back of how a sister showed her strong hate towards polygamy and didn't understand this concept in Islam and why the rule was set in place, she was despising the act.
Let's get one thing clear. You and I can have our opinions on certain topics, but never must we question the laws of Allah and the shariah. It saddens me that when you speak to sisters about polygamy the only thougts spiraling their mind is "That's it, I'm leaving him." "He hates me!" or "If my husband ever married again, I'd divorce him. "
For some, polygamy may be suited and for others it is a practice best to be brushed under the carpet, however one thing to remember is that your husband marrying again doesn't necessarily mean he hates you. If that is the case, he could have easily divorced you. You are your husbands wife and nothing will ever change that. For you to accept his decision is merely increasing your chances of attaining Jannah, for a woman who is obedient to her husband is only making her path to Paradise much easier. Yes, you may be hurt, torn apart, overpowered with sadness, but like everyone, you are to be tested. Maybe for you this is a test too hard to handle and for others they may not care less if their husband married again.  Each for their own. However, keep in mind that indeed in every hardship their is a blessing in disguise. It's only natural to feel hurt and upset but only let it be a reminder of your purpose of life and this wavering dunya.
.
Final say, sometimes we cannot fathom some concepts Islam initiates. Some things may not be suited to our needs or preferences, but at the end of the day, Allah, our Lord, The Most Wise knows us as a nation better than we know ourselves, hence when He ordains, He ordains with perfect understanding and knowledge..
Allah Himself says:
"It is not fitting for a believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger, to have any option about their decision. If anyone disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong path. (al-Ahzab, 36)."

Madina Diary 2013

Day 1 - 28/4/13

Road trip to Madinah.

I was just pondering over the migration our Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) and his followers made from Makkah to Madinah. There were no cars in those days, no AC, no GPS system. They would just walk miles on end in the scorching heat and their trust would be in Allah. SubhanAllah, a truly great event in the history of Islam that we don't appreciate enough. This was the stepping stone to a big change for the Muslims. It was a step that lead to the revival and establishment of Islam. May Allah be pleased with the Muhajiroon.

Day 2 - 29/4/13

Ahhh Madina is absolutely beautiful. It's so peaceful here, so calm, so relaxed! Already love this place and I've only been here a day! To know that the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) walked on the same grounds I am standing on right now, is a thought that gives me goosebumps. I love the history of Islam. Madina is packed with history. The place gives you feelings of serenity. Indeed Allah showered His mercy on Madina and its inhabitants, and made it a city so tranquil. Madina was beloved to our Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) and it too is beloved to me.

Day 3 - 30/4/13

Jum'uah was awesome MashaAllah TabarakAllah. I grasped some of the things the Khateeb wa saying so was happy that I understood even a teeny bit of it! Alhamdulilah :)
I look forward to Maghrib times. I love to watch the sunset. The sky goes from a light blue, to a pale violet, and then a spectacular purple colour. Blessed is He the best of creators. And then with the pillars of the Masjid soaring up high, you can't help but sit and marvel at the beauty above you!

Sometimes it's the little things in life that bring us great joy. Things like the Masjid umbrellas opening and closing. Soo pretty - definitely something unique to Masjid Nabawi. :D

"Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty" (Sahih Muslim) I was thinking about how awe-inspiring and intricate the designs inside of the Masjid are. Indeed Allah loves all things beautiful. Make He make us beautiful inside and out.

Day 4 - 31/4/13

You see so many kids at the haram. Some of them will join in the prayers with you, others will be exploring the masjid. You see the little ones having the time of their life...running all over the place... Across the spacious floors of the haram! Children are a huge blessing and an amanah too. We need to give them the best childhood possible because that's where their learning begins. That's when they are most likely to remember what you teach them and develop their habits and personalities. What better place is there, than the city of Rasulullah (Salallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) to have your kids grow up in? To understand, you need to see with your own eyes the ettiquetes some of the children here carry, and their maturity at such a young age. I want my children to know the city of their Prophet (Salallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) inside out and its history.

All the kids at the haram seem to be so happy, playing about, running around..
but at the same time they're learning and their experiencing the atmosphere of this most beautiful city, and they're hearing the Adhaan been called 5 times a day, they're praying amongst the elders...all that is being absorbed into their little brains and will be hopefully affecting them and their growing personalities.

May Allah grant us all children who will be the coolness of our eyes, and may He fill their hearts with the love of the Qur'an and the Sunnah.

Day 5 - 1/5/13

Going to miss...

Hearing the Adhaan been called live 5 times a day...
Just having time to myself with my Lord in the beautiful city of Rasulullah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam)...
Recalling all the history and events that took place in Madinah...
Watching the sunset at Maghrib...♥
Walking with thousands of worshippers to the Masjid - people from all walks of life...
Admiring the beauty of the Masjid and the natural beauty of Madina..

I would love to migrate to Makkah or Madinah. More inclined to Madina because it's not as busy and it's got this very serene feel. They seriously need to open an islamic university for women in Madina - that'd be like another dream come true <3

Anyone know how these really awesome women that volunteer at Masjidil Nabawi, actually get such an amazingly rewarding job? I admire them so much MashaAllah. It takes alot of hardwork and effort to get sisters to do the right thing and assemble them in rows for Salaah! They do it so well and I pray Allah rewards them for all their efforts!

Day 6 - 2/5/13

It is true that visiting both harams sows a seed in your heart, once you've experienced it you forever yearn for more. It's like you've finally found your sense of belonging, you've finally found where your heart and soul is at peace. Nothing is more painful than leaving a place where you feel most happy, but like every journey it soon has to come to an end and so it's time to say goodbye...

Makkah Diary 2013

Day 1 - 21/5/13

Bismillah,

Alhamdulilah, on my way to board my flight to Jeddah! InshaAllah, can't wait! My first time in Saudi and my first 'Umrah bi'ithnillah. Feel so blessed. Indeed all praise is due to Him.

Day 2 - 22/5/13

SubhanAllah, where do I even begin? I'm truly lost for words. It's my second day in the holy land of Makkah. I am sitting at the haram with the Kaa'bah in full view and just taking in the extremely beautiful atmosphere.

Yesterday was a day I will never ever forget. My first 'Umrah experience and my first time visiting Makkah. Words cannot describe how you feel when you see the Kaa'bah for the first time. I still remember how I would watch thousands of people performing tawaaf on TV, and my heart would yearn to be in their place. I would dream of seeing the Kaa'bah in reality and there I was, standing right in front of it. A dream come true. The feeling you get is indescribable!  I remember walking down the steps which lead to the inside of the masjid where the Kaa'bah is. I held my mother's hand tightly. My heart was pounding. Is this real? It was when my sight fell upon the Kaa'bah that my world just froze. My heart filled with peace and contentment. Everything made so much sense. Yet.. everything still seemed like a dream! All worries and stress were left behind me and my heart was filled with awe.

A dream I held for so long wasn't a dream anymore. Allah gave me a huge blessing. He made me amongst His delgates. He invited me to His house. I felt special. He brought me here and He accepted my Du'aa.

I felt as though I was finally home. The Kaa'bah I pray towards everyday, was now literally a few inches away from me. Incredible.

Tawaaf was spiritually uplifting.  I loved it. You forget everything else ans your ultimate focus is on your Tawaaf and performing it as best as you can. Asking Allah to grant you all that is good in this life and the hereafter.

Safa and Marwa was a killer but so so so worth it! Your feet ache and your drained but you just keep going because you are reminded about Hajar (as) and how it must have been 10 x tougher for her. SubhanAllah, 'Umrah teaches you beautiful lessons. It trains you to be patient and thankful for the many gifts Allah showers you with. Allah is truly Al-Kareem.

Day 3 - 23/5/13

I found my favourite spot at the haram today! I absolutely love it here! Feels so homey. :) My favourite spot is at the right of the Kaa'bah. I have a pretty clear view of it too. Fans are hovering above me and it's so nice to sit there and reflect. I guess the most memorable part of today was praying Salaah behind Sheikh Khalid Ghamdi. He cried so much. It was a very emotional Salaah. May Allah grant us all soft hearts that cry out of love and fear of Him.

The constant walking around the haram, to and fro the hotel and then the Wudhu trips caused my feet to become bruised and blistered. Yet that's what made everything so much more special. It is only then that you begin to appreciate the luxury you are indulged in on a daily basis. The striving and struggling increases you in nothing but strength.  You just tell yourself, which of the favours of your Lord can you deny?

Day 4 - 24/5/13

Waiting for breakfast!

Maaaaan I miss the haram so much when I'm in my hotel. :(  Hate leaving it. :( I could sit there all day and all night. The peace you feel and the joy you get is something else. It's spiritually uplifting. Love this place to bits and pieces. ♡

Allah grants one so much strength here. He gives you so much energy. Allahu Akbar. Makkah is a city that never sleeps. Your eyes fill with tears when you see thousands of worshippers around you,  praying, making tawaaf, reading Qur'an - ever so humbling and beautiful.

I literally dragged my brothers out today when they were gonna take their nap. I was adamant that they take me to the haram.  My favourite time (yes, I have a favourite time too lol) was around midnight. The air was cool and it was not as busy. You could find yourself a nice spot in front of the Kaa'bah and just watch the tawaaf people are performing and sink into deep thought . It's a nice time to relax and reflect and just have some time to yourself in thought and solitude.

Day 5 - 25/5/13

My first and last (for this trip inshaAllah! ) Jumu'ah at the haram. Absolutely jam-packed. And probably the hottest day since I arrived here. Was a lovely experience. Except that I was a bit sad that I couldn't understand the Khutbah.  Really want to learn Arabic :( Ya rabb faciliate for me a way to learn the language of your book! Ameen.
Haven't prayed behind Maher or Sudais yet. *eagerly awaiting the moment* :)

Day 6 - 36/5/13

Wow. Today was packed with some very beautiful moments. Alhamdulilah, finally got to read behind Sheikh Sudais and Maher. These Sheikhs I was brought up listening to ever since I was a little girl. I used to always dream of the moment I could pray behind Sudais. SubhanAllah, and again Allah made my dream come true. Wallahi, Allah has showered His mercy on me. He is so so Merciful. <3
He is Al Wadud - the Loving, Ar-Razaaq - the one who provides for His 'Abd,  He is also Al-Kareem - The Generous. He gives more than you can ever ask for. How can you deny such a loving, caring and merciful Lord?

As I was walking to the haram today, I began to look around me. You are literally surrounded by thousands of worshippers. The streets are packed. Each step a Slave takes towards His Lord will be a reward for him. With each step make your intention sincere, so that with each step you are being raised in rank in the hereafter by the will and permission of your supreme Lord. Easy rewards - sometimes you just need to think. How can you turn everything you do into worship? And how can you gain more reward? #think

Day 6 - 6/5/13

Wanted to share some reflections today...

1) Cleaners - Don't you just look at them and think they have the best job in the world? There must be something about them and their hearts that Allah chose them to clean the most grand masjids of all! They work for peanuts but their reward with Allah is so great. SubhanAllah. May Allah raise them in rank in this life and the next. Ameen.

2) Zam Zam - The miracle of Zam Zam is evident before our eyes. The water that never ends! It's amazing. One glass of zam sam water totally refreshes you and gives you this sudden energy you wouldn't get even if you drank red bull! It's so special and I wish I had tanks of Zam Zam in my room so that I could drink it all the time. It's the most refreshing and cool drink you could ever have and in it lies great Shifaa too SubhanAllah. Because of one woman, thousands of worshippers are able to drink the water and use it for the benefit of themselves.  Amazing.

3) Niqab - My first time wearing a Niqab. You hardly see women here without it. As a matter of fact, you NEED to wear it here. I know many say it's much easier wearing the veil in 'Islamic' countries because the majority wear it...but it is actually, in my opinion harder due to yhe fact it's hotter, burning. But SubhanAllah YOU make that step and intention to wear it, and no matter where you are, Allah will make it easy for you. I admit,  the first few days were hard but gradually it became easy. Now, it's part of me, my identity and my lifestyle (InshaAllah!)

4) Cone-zone - After a bit of thought I have come to the conclusion that cone zone ice-cream wins over icestone gjelato :) anyone who visits Makkah - its a must try!

Day 7 - 27/5/13

I love Makkah. I love its atmosphere, its people, and everything about it. You meet people from all walks of life. Thousands of worshippers all walking towards the same goal and purpose. All your worries are left behind and your ultimate focus is on the purpose of your creation. Each time you lay your eyes on the Kaabah your heart cries out of happiness and you can't help but feel at peace, at home. This is the home of Islam afterall, a place our kids need to witness and need to be a part off, a place that fills our hearts with joy and reminds us of the reality of life.

O Allah grant me your acceptance and your forgiveness. Mend my broken heart. Let each tear that falls from my eye be an expiation of a sin and allow me to return to your house again. O Lord of the Kaabah allow me to change for the better, soothe my burning heart with the coolness of faith and grant victory to the Ummah. Indeed you hear the call of the caller when he calls, so accept my call and my hearts plea! Ameen.
#leavingMakkah #heartbroken

Health is a crown [A stranger came and left]

I initially wrote this article prior to Brother Tehseen’s death, at the time when he was first diagnosed with the illness. I noted down a few lessons I myself had derived from his experience and his ailment. After a few edits, and brushing up, I thought I’d share it with you all, so that you may read and take benefit from it, InshaAllah...

Assalaamu Alaykum Waramatullahi Barakatuhu,

I pray you are all doing well and are in the best of health and Imaan.

Today I want to share with you some reflections I’ve been having over the past few days on the topic of health and hardship. I felt it would be relevant to talk about as many people around the world are being afflicted with it, and also many I know are going through this great test.

Just last week I was informed that one of our family friends, Ameer of Al Kauthar Bradford, and manager of Little Explorers, had been diagnosed with a braintumor. At first, it was a shock to the system, as we had just recently witnessed the brother being very active, at the center of the Dawah in our recent Al Kauthar courses.

MashaAllah, anyone you ask would say that he was a brother who was always on the go, inviting and pursuing the vision of rasulullah (Salallahu 'Alayhi Was Salam).  Hence, what struck me the most, and made me pause and ponder was that this brother was only young, he had three beautiful children and seemed very healthy, you would never think that he would be suffering from such a severe illness inside.

Alhamdulillah, his operation was successful and he is on the way to recovery.

What I want to share with you though, are the lessons I took from this incident, and some reasons why we should appreciate the blessings of health and hardship.

There is a very profound quote I came across:

"Health is a crown that only the sick can see” (Dawud (as)

These wise words by Dawud (as) are so true and of such beauty and wisdom. He is comparing health to a ‘crown’, implicating that health is something that is precious and treasured and well appreciated. Except, not to everyone, rather only to the sick, for they have tasted both the sweetness of health and the bitterness of illness and have grown appreciative of those times they had where they were fit, well and healthy.

When a person falls sick he realizes and appreciates the blessing of health much more than the one who is already healthy, for the latter does not see it as a huge blessing and gift, rather he takes it for granted and shows that through his actions and the way he utilizes it.

We have all heard the quote ‘health is wealth.’ In essence it suggests that when you have health and you are physically, mentally and spiritually well, then you have, in actual fact, everything!  It is because you have the energy and strength to do what you can and you can accomplish much more than those who don’t have the energy or the ability to even prostrate their forehead to the ground in prayer. It is also because you can do more with you limbs, you are not limited to what you do, as your energy and enthusiasm is high. Therefore, my dearest brothers and sisters in Islam, always appreciate and use your health and your youth wisely, because if it was to be taken away from you, it would take away many other things with it.

The Prophet (Salallahu 'Alayhi Was Salam) states in a Hadith:

"There are two blessings in which most people are in great loss: 1) Good health and 2) Free time.”

Unfortunately, we fall prey to this and become unaware of these two great blessings, and go on living our lives thinking it will remain with us forever. The reality is, we have no guarantee! Today we’re here, and tomorrow we could be in a hospital bed.

The lessons I learnt from Br. Tehseen’s situation were many, although I knew of them already, I felt oblivious to them for too long and so personally it was awell needed reminder and a good wake up call.

Shukr (Thanks to Allah) - I have already mentioned health and how we should value it, but one thing I extracted from his illness was that we should always be grateful to Allah for our health. For the fact that we can place our forehead on the ground and make Sujood to Allah, whilst many can’t. That we’re not one of those thousands of people lyingin a hospital bed, not knowing when we will be able to walk or talk again; not knowing if we will be able to take our next breath.

One of the ways of being thankful to Allah for this blessing is by using our healthy limbs and body in the way and service of Allah. Meaning, that we use our healthiness to please Allah, for example, we could lend a helping hand to our brother or sister, or use our legs to walk to places which are good, the masjid, or a place of seeking knowledge. By doing this, we grow appreciative of our strong and healthy selves, and making Shukr to Allah for it.

Mercy of Allah – Through this encounter I also learnt that we should NEVER lose hope in the Mercy of Allah(swt). That of surety, Allah (swt)will shower his Mercy down on those who show patience and who remain steadfast even in times of extreme hardship.

“And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we willreturn."

(Surah Baqarah:155-156)

The family of this brother, MashaAllah, are of those who show great patience, and they themselves never have lost hope in the Mercy of Allah throughout this hard time. Surely he Allah is Ar-Rahman and Ar-Rahim and is with the Sabiroon (those who are patient).

Allah is the Best of Planners – One should have yaqeen and trust in the plan and decree of Allah. It may be that you were planning to do something whilst Allah had a better plan. This brother may have had plans, but Allah replaced his plan with a better Plan, that would affect many, and hold many wisdoms behind it Subhan'Allah. Not everything we plan ourselves is good for us, Allah may have a better plan which would be a blessing in disguise. Also, not everything we perceive as bad Is bad. Many would say that Tehseen’s illness is bad for him and is a huge burden and calamity, yet it could be quite the opposite, for when Allah decrees something for us, we should have firm belief that it’s good for us, even though we may not think it. We should remember that “every cloud has a silver lining” :)

Let me tell you something that happened to me a few days back…

I actually already wrote half of this post a few days back, but whilst I was writing it and pouring my heart out, my laptop suddenly went all weird and my post just disappeared. Of course I was gutted, but surprisingly at that same time I was typing the bit about Allah being the Best of Planners, and so I thought to myself, “you know what, there has GOT to be some wisdom behind this, just got to be” ..And of course Allah never fails in his promise, and so there was… I posted what happened on my Facebook status and one of the sisters shared a hadith with me, telling me how Allah will replace you with something better, and that my work would come out better next time even though it got deleted the first time! So one positive was that I learnt a new hadith, also the next time I wrote my post it came out much better than before!

So, basically, the end line is that you should always look at the positives of everything and remember always that you plan but Allah has a better plan. Have trust in His wisdom.

The Power of Dua- This one was also a huge reminder to me as well.  Dua’aa is the weapon of a believer. Just ask Allah! Wallahi, I cannot emphasise on this point enough! Always, always, turnback to Allah and ask Him for everything. He WILL respond, He does hear your call,so don’t become disheartened and lose hope. Whatever situation you’re in, tell Him about it, for He is the one that can resolve your situation and make things better. In my personal instance, I can remember so many times when things were really heard and I turned to Allah, and He always there for me. Always. Allah loves those who turn to him! So turn to Him and don’t relent on your Du’aas.

This family who are going through this hardship know that only Allah is the one whose help is sought, HE is the one who grants Shifaa, and so with that belief they call upon Him, asking them to cure their dear, son, brother, father and husband. SubhanAllah…

What was truly heartfelt was that hundreds, even thousands of people who  may have or may not have known this brother were making Du’aa for him, some haven't even met of him, yet because he was their brother in the deen they invoked Allah to make his operation easy.

“And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad],concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicantwhen he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly ]guided.” (2:186)

Unity – I can’t stress this point enough, it is so beautiful when you see one Ummah come together and  unite, and make Du’aa and help each other, those whom they don’t even know. Why? Because everyone is connected by “La ilaha IllaAllah”- This statement is what makes them family and THIS is the beauty of Islam; that when one part of the body hurts the whole body feels the pain, and that's how the Muslims are with one another…

When Syria is feeling all the pain, and sorrow, and tears, we also feel their pain, shed tears, and do ALL we can to help them. We sacrifice our own time to help our brothers in need. When our brother or sister is in need of something,we run to their aid, knowing that Allah will reward us for we helped another of His slaves!

On the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him)from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said, ” Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. (Part of hadith narrated by Muslim)

I have seen many people who have helped this family.Whether that was babysitting the kids or cooking some food for them, the lesson I want you all to take away is, that we are all one Ummah, if our brother or sister is in need we should do all we can to help them, for Allah loves such acts of goodness, kindness and generosity, do it for His sake, and your reward will be immense.

Spend your youth worshipping Allah – Take advantage of your youth before you old age! Always remember the youth who spends his time serving Allah and worshipping him, will be granted Allah (swt)’s shade (HisThrone) on the day when there will be no shade except His (swt’s). This is again because the youth has health and energy to accomplish much more than those who are old and weak.Yet, you never know what is around the corner. This brother was young yet Allah willed for his health to deteriorate so make use of the seconds you have, your health may not last forever.

 Finally...

After everyhardship is ease – You all must know this beautiful Ayah in the Quran, it’s for us to reflect upon this and know that Allah will bring ease after hardship, yes it’s the truth, and Allah never fails in his promise, so have certainty that happiness is to follow. Allah not only promises you one ease after every hardship, rather double. Always remember, after every storm comes a rainbow :)

So with that I end my post, and I ask you all to raise your hands and make Du’aa for this brother, his family and for the millions of Muslims suffering around the world; ask Allah, call upon him with His beautiful names, and invoke Him to cure them all and grant them ease after their hardship.

Pray you benefited from this post.

May Allah elevate each and every one of you in rank.

Patience

Sabr.

You are not alone in your struggles,
Look to those around you -

That man has no feet,
And you complain of no shoes?
Thy girl sees but darkness,
Whilst Allah has given you two beautiful eyes?

Consider the one whose lost her young child;
In a violent shelling,
Her hands are soaked with its blood,
As her eyes weep for the child she held,
She fed,
and whom she loved more than anything else.

Look at that boy,
Whose parents have passed by,
And he works and cleans,
Whilst his little sister cries,
With no food to fulfil the pangs of hunger,
With no one to cuddle her; hold her in their arms.

Have you seen the one who sees no light?
Trapped within 4 walls -
Away from their family for years on end;
Locked behind brass bars,
Tortured, oppressed, hurt and agonised.

Once I Turn

When all hope is lost,
And the storm strikes,
When the winds howl with fury,
And the waves crash against the rocky shore,

When darkness surrounds,
And the world becomes silent,
When everything comes to a standstill -

I turn.

Turn towards As-Sami,
The one who hears my hearts plea,

I turn towards Al-Basir;
The one who can see the dripping tears from my eyes,

I turn to Ar-Raheem;
The ones whose Mercy encompasses everything,

I turn.

I turn to the one and only Lord,
The Magnificent; possessor of beauty,
Of greatness, strength and sovereignty.

I turn.

Away from the problems haunting my mind,
The worries deep within - the sorrow and grief,
From the struggle and tests, the pain, the hurt, the scars and the agony.

And when I turn..

My heart fills with peace, serenity ad tranquility.
My eyes become dry,
Hope is regained,
As I share my problems,
To the one who is worthy of Praise!
The creator of me, you and everything,
How the impossible is made easy,
And morning follows the darkness;

Once I turn;

To The Lord of the Worlds.
